Back Side of Mont Fort

  • The “back side” of Mont Fort is a rite of passage for any off-piste skier. The first time you “go back side” is an experience that will stay with you forever. As soon as you enter the area you feel the intensity of the mountain and the isolation as you cut yourself off from the main resort. The skiing is fantastic, extensive and all of it steep and challenging. There are a great many different lines and routes – some of which involve boot packing. The exit from back side is long and time consuming as you must pass alongside the lake and drop below the damn to return to civilization. Going “back side” is a serious proposition and should not be undertaken without the appropriate safety equipment and unescorted by someone with the relevant experience.
